The hospital complies with law and regulation.

(1)

The hospital provides care, treatment, and services in accordance with licensure requirements and federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Note: For hospitals that use Joint Commission accreditation for deemed status purposes: The hospital meets the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) definition of a hospital in accordance with 42 CFR 482.1(a)(1) and (b). (Refer to https://www.ecfr.gov/ for the language of this CMS requirement)

The hospital is licensed or approved as meeting the standards for licensing established by the state or responsible locality, in accordance with law and regulation to provide the care, treatment, or services for which the hospital is seeking accreditation from Joint Commission.

The hospital maintains the following: - Records of the source and disposition of all units of blood and blood components for at least 10 years from the date of disposition in a manner that permits prompt retrieval - A fully funded plan to transfer these records to another hospital or other entity if the hospital ceases operation for any reason
